Copywriting Portfolio

Let’s take a peek inside just a few of the things I’ve done over my past 15+ years of pro copywriting. Spoiler alert: I’ve done a MASSIVE AMOUNT of employer branding stuff, helping great companies attract and retain top talent in everything from healthcare and high tech to finance, fashion and so much more.

Not pictured here: two dozen wheelbarrow-fulls of creative campaigns, case studies, social media calendars, direct mail pieces, career sites and landing pages, daily ads and last-minute creative layups, employee referral programs, diversity and inclusion messaging, white papers, UX-friendly detail work, infographics, radio and video scripts, and the list just keeps going, people.

Infinitum Revolution

You say you want a revolution? When the creators of the next big thing in online gaming invite you to write a website to attract additional investors, you don’t just say “Sure, why not.” You say GAME ON. I had an incredible experience working with team leadership to understand the technology and game ethos before diving in to write a site that reflected the brand’s unique voice and spirit. But the site slowly evolved into a future player-facing platform as well, where it serves to build excitement and enthusiasm for the game’s upcoming launch.

Zero Motorcycles

That feeling you get when you’re doing something good for the environment -- while injecting some serious wow factor into your daily ride. That’s the Zero effect. And it’s what inspired me to develop a series of pieces celebrating not just a line of 100% electric motorcycles, but also a lifestyle based around giving back -- and throwing down.

Original Grain

When two brothers created a unique line of watches made from reclaimed wood, from Kentucky Bourbon barrels to Yankee™ Stadium seats, they didn’t just create a sensation. They found an opportunity to give back. Enter the Ocean Plastic Diver watch, a new product last year that turned single-use plastic from the ocean into beautiful time pieces. The brothers tasked me with messaging for the rollout, and naturally, I dove right in.

Animal Farm

Since 1895, Goorin Bros. has been serving the discerning hat wearer. Cut to: a couple of hot seconds ago, when they rolled out Animal Farm, a line of premium trucker hats for the wild animal in all of us. With a brand new site coming out, I got the chance to cross one off the bucket list: writing wildly strange and delightful product descriptions. Get back, honky cat (I also finally saw Rocketman).

Explainer Videos

Explainer videos....the unsung heroes of advertising, telling your product or service's story quickly – and visually, while turning complex subjects into simple and compelling ones. I recently had the opportunity to help two great clients create video content for their products.

HULU

As Hulu embraced its new employer branding statement, “Powering Play,” I helped bring it to life through social media content and collateral pieces like this little number aimed at early career candidates. And I don’t know about you, but I’m totally binging on Rick and Morty tonight.

T-Mobile

Employer Branding Tactics

In the midst of tremendous business growth, a leading wireless provider found its employer brand message changing as well. I had the privilege of partnering with the Un-carrier Talent Acquisition Team to develop and express the brand’s unique and unforgettable employer voice: #BeMagenta.

Over time, this would include a staggering list of très cool projects and one-offs. We’re talking everything from creative campaigns to executive ghost writing to social media -- and that one time we gave old job descriptions a total Pretty Woman style makeover.

Here are examples of two initiatives I’m proud of, the first being a series of employee feature stories I wrote based on one-on-one interviews. So many interesting journeys - so many reasons to love working with the Un-carrier. I also had the pleasure of writing a collection of “realistic job preview” videos that helped potential employees understand the Real Deal Holyfield ins and outs of the job.

GW9

Meet Gunther Werks, a specialty automotive innovator based in Southern California. Their deal: reimagining classic Porsche models into limited-edition works of art for car enthusiasts around the world. The owners reached out to me for help on a new business venture, and as a life-long Porsche lover, I couldn’t say no. GW9 provides bespoke accessories for the cars that make our hearts beat a little faster - and our speedometers move a little further into the red.

ANN INC.

Careers Site

A leading fashion brand dedicated to helping women put their best selves forward every day. A careers site that needed a spirited overhaul. I was tasked with reviewing and editing existing site content while identifying opportunities to develop fresh creative across three unique brands.
Along the way, I became a big fan of the Ann.

Stanford Health Care

Careers Site

Say hello to one of the world’s most respected health care providers. When it came time for Stanford Health Care to reboot its careers site, I had the opportunity to write a brand new one from scratch, interviewing key stakeholders in the process to develop fresh and relevant content across every career discipline.
